nc29 set up issues.

im trying to get my brohters cbr running sweet for me to use on the road and for him to race at the end of the year.
It has a daishin aluminium full system, K&N filter, adjustable needles and a graeme france Ecu .
I was just wondering what a base setting would be for this. ive got the needle clips on the 3rd position from the bottom, i've got 110/117.5 or 120 jets to try.
I have the 117.5 fitted but when it was running it was spitting fuel back up through the carb, i've read that this could be due to cam timing being out or valve clearances needing doing due to inlet valves not closing completely.
Any info would be sound.
