Oil recommendations

Post by manicguitarist » Sat Jan 10, 2015 6:44 pm

Hi folks.
Yeah I'm missing riding my baby - so I'm busy ordering parts for the Spring service (oil filter, new coolant, brake fluid....).

I was about to order my usual oil when I note it says "especially for 750cc and larger bikes".

Ok - I've been riding 750cc and larger bikes for the last 18yrs...but in all that time I've used Silkolene Pro 4 10w40 fully synthetic.

I like this oil - because it is red. I know...daft reason - but still. I figure it is high quality race spec oil so should be ok in my bikes.

Anyone have anything adverse to say about this oil in 400cc bikes? I imagine that they use the "750cc and larger" tag line as a way of selling more of this oil (it is *expensive*) - but just want to be sure that it won't cause problems (can't really see how it will, but still....)

Cheers folks!
