I think there could be a problem with the coil pack(s) on my NC30, so this is a bit of a fact finding post to see what I need to do next. I'll keep this as short as possible, the bike hasn't done an awful lot of miles over the past two years, I replaced the battery at the beginning of summer this year and also the spark plugs at the end of 2012. I started riding more frequently again this summer and noticed it would take 3-5 goes to get her fired up and this continued up until recently when she just would not start at all.
Having limited space where the bike is kept, I checked the rear plugs (everything looks fine) and for any fouling to fueling system. The ignition sounds good, plenty of juice in the battery as it is new. I removed the plug and connected it to the lead to see if there was any spark coming through. Nothing. Not a bean. I have a feeling the coil pack might have died.
Does this sound about right?

Just a thought, but did you have the other plug lead connected to the other plug, because they wont spark with both leads disconnected.
If you have a multimeter you can check the resistance of the coil windings the primary coil will be about 6ohms (cant remember the exact figures off the top of me head, sorry) and the secondary would be quite high, If either are open circuit the coil is dead. And check the plug caps too, sometimes they go faulty. Sorry for been a bit vague but I been up since 6.30

The other plug was still connected along with the lead when I checked. I didn't have a Multimeter to hand when I did the checks last time but I'll get one for next time. Asking for what is normal reading was going to be one of my next questions, but you beat me to it! Are there any PDF docs to tell me what readings I should be looking for? I'll check my Haynes too but it's at my parent's house so I can't do it right now.

You will always find parts on here in the parts for sale or dave silver spares if you want new.i have a rear coil if you need one in good condition..
