When i bought my nc24, i thought the smoke was because it was Cold, and didnt feel the smell.
Today i know better, it burns oil, and quite a lot of it.
Anyone have any experience of this? Ive ordered valve stem seals and a kit of pistons and piston rings, i cant find any gaskets though. How will i know if its the valve stem seals or the piston rings that has given up on Life without having to change them, or is it possible?
Smoking NC24, drinking oil.

Sounds like you have it nailed down there, contact Rick Oliver for gasket sets. To tell the difference, if it smokes when you roll off the throttle its valves, if its as you roll on the throttle its probably the piston rings

Its the piston rings then. Shit. Ill problably change the gaskets too then, just to make sure. Cant get worse by changing them.
Thank you for your input!
Does anyone here knows what torque wrench settings i should use for all the bits needed to go off?

Re: Smoking NC24, drinking oil.
which pistons did you buy? chinese oversize pistons?
probably cheaper to get a good running second hand engine? I paid 20 pounds for the last one i bought.
Its odd for either of them to go unless the motor has been really neglected.
think it will cost an awful lot to get it rebuilt

Original size pistons + rings. Chinese sadly yes, there were lots of feedback from others who had bought pistons and pistonrings that said it had worked perfectly.
A good second hand Engine would be great, thing is, there are hardly any availible in Sweden, and the shipping cost will be quite a lot. But if you happen to stumble across one, please tell me!
BTW, do you know if the NC30 air filter will fit? I cand find any for the nc24.
The cost for getting the Engine rebuilt will be about 200€.

Ah right.. I hope the bores arn't too worn then.
Hope the copy parts last a while as it's troublesome to rebuild them.
Plenty of cheap engines in Japan, might be able to get one shipped over.
NC30 air filter doesn't fit. I think the NC24 one was discontiniued recently so stocks are low.
Maybe onewill turn up somehwere.. aftermarket foam filters can cause thebike to run terribly but mightbe your only option, it will need re-setting up probably ifyou do that.
