Exhaust manifold nuts.

Hello,

I keep finding (since ownership) that the exhaust manifold nuts on cylinder 1&3 keep working loose a and coming right off. Initially I thought the tapping noise was valve clearances needed doing but after finding the nuts near the rear spring well that fave it away
I've done them up 3 times in 3k kms - but really I shouldn't need to

I'm scared to over tighten them it tbh I do them up fairly tight. I can't get my torque wrench in there unfortunately.
Should these nuts be replaced each time?
Is this a trait of nc30's to work loose?
Any tips to stop it happening?

would it be possible to remove them and fit 2 standard nuts so that you can lock em together once tightened if you know what i mean

Mm.mm not thought of that but tbh it's hard enough getting one on there!!
On a car they are normally brass but these aren't.

Tighten them up properly, certainly not a trait.

Never had any come undone before that were put on tight enough. It's Only reason I can think of is they are not tightened enough.

rear cylinders? do you mean the stubby or the pipes to stubby? genuine or aftermarket system?
