NC24/21 Rear Shock Replacement

Post by TeaMonkey » Thu Jan 16, 2014 5:33 am

Hi all!

I've got what appears to be a leaking rear shock on my nc21. I have done some research into rebuilding, and i'm not convinced I could do it properly on my own (plus I dont have the specialized tools) and sending it overseas to be rebuilt sounds like more effort and money than its worth, and so i am looking into finding a used donor shock that would fit and possibly raise the ride height a little.

Anyone know of any suitable shock replacement that would fit an nc21/24 without too much modification?

Much appreciated!!
Tyler

hey MB James,

I havent managed to get round to making it happen. I'm saving cash for university, and unfortunately restoring the bike has been put on the back burner. I asked some mechanics here in thailand about replacing my nc21 shock with that of an nc30, and they didn't seem too fazed by the idea, so i'm guessing it's possible.

If I do get round to making it happen i'l be sure to throw up a how-to :-)

Best,
Tyler

Edit - just took a look at another post i put up related to this procedure and the measurements for both shocks point to them interchangeable: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=42421
