I've had the electrics replaced on my NC30 but the regulators still keep frazzling every month. I've had mechanics look over the electrics but they can't find any problems but keep using £30 replacement rectifiers. I've noticed they seem to go every time I ride over 150 miles so I'm going to assume it is overheating as I've not had any unusual results after checking voltages, resistances and connectors.

I've been recommended about electrosport ones but I've also heard they are crap.

Any know any good quality rectifiers for the NC30 which dissipate the heat well? I'd fit an R6 one but I'm not very handy at all so I don't mind paying a bit extra for a compatible part because this is starting to get really annoying.

A nice OEM yamaha one that has 5 spades. 2003 R6 is what I have

Search on here - you'll find fitment and specifics - mine has coped wth the gsxr1000 alternator for a couple of years...

I see some on EBay and they look like the connectors fit. Do you know if it will just plug in and work and fit under the fairing?

you have to fit spades and do a proper job on it - solder, heatshrink etc.

Plug and play - nope. reliable, IMO, when done right - yep

I ditched the diode type RR and put a mosfet type from an 08 cbr600rr on mine. Had to splice it on since the connectors aren't compatible. The mosfets are a much better design and most newer modern bikes use one.

As suggested the r6 r/r is a good cure and a mosfet type even better see rick oliver for a mosfet type for the nc30 just recently added to his stocklist.

I caught some crap about mounting location, but no problems yet, and I run this on the track in New Mexico...where it gets a lot hotter than the UK.
