rvf cams again.?

Post by steve92 » Wed Sep 18, 2013 5:51 pm

Can someone please explain how to tell the difference between rvf and vfr cams.?

I just paid £100 for a set of rvf cams and they came in the post today. Think i read before the rvf ones are hollow in the middle.? They look exactly the same as the ones i have.!

Hope i'm wrong and these are rvf ones.!!

RVF cams are hollow/lighter, but the ends are sealed. As far as i know they look very similar ive never had mine side by side to check for any difference.

My suggestion is to get them on the scales to compare with your VFR ones to tell for certain. There is a noticeable difference when you fit them too, who did you buy them off?

I'll get them on the scales then. I'm nearly sure the exhaust lobes look a bigger shape, not taller but more duration on them.
Although its hard to tell just looking at them.!

I got them off a fella i race with from Cork. He is sound and wouldn't have sold me vfr ones on purpose. I was just a little worried they'd been swapped in the engine he took them out of before he owned it. I don't really need another set of vfr cams.
