Evening all.

Well, I got the old engine out of my bike (nc30), all going well when I noticed the replacement engine seemed different in a few ways to the engine I was removing. Firstly the oil fill plug seemed to be set a little further forward than the one on the current engine. Seems like the new engine has used an oil cooler at some stage aswell. I am unable to post pics up at the moment as I'm on mobile and I'll update this thread as soon as I'm back near my laptop but wondered if anyone could help with identification. Both engines numbers start with nc13e, is that any help? The new one seems also to have facility for what I assume might be knock sensors or something whereas the old one had the mouldings on the casing but they're closed off.

Sorry for the incredibly n00b questions and I did have a search to see if this has been asked before but couldn't seem to find anything. I'm guessing its either an nc24 or nc35 lump as its very similar. I couldn't even find a reasonable photo on google to compare with. If someone has decent quality images of all 3 could they post them up and maybe I could identify it from them.

Well, I do know the uk version had an oil cooler fitted, but as for the rest of the differences, I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along soon!

The NC24 also had an oil cooler.And the 35 engine isn't painted.

It is going to be an NC24 IMO

the NC35 is identical to the 30 but is not painted.

The 24 has different mounts - check them out..

You mean it has a camshaft position sensor between the V?

Then this is an NC21 engine.

The NC24 engine also has a radiator type oil cooler but no crankshaft sensor.

If it is either of those engines then It wont wire up to the NC30 loom plus the NC30 ignition box and rev counter will NOT work with this engine at all.

Also if you do use it you will need to do somethign with the oil cooler ports as they will send out oil to the radiator.

Any pictures of the parts.

BTW they are all NC13E engines.

NC21 engine by the looks of it, cant see in between the V but looks like it has the camshaft sensor in it.

The engine is at my mates house so can't get any more photos at the moment, but not to worry, I've just been and picked up yet another engine :)

Will see how this one goes.

To confirm, i have just acquired an NC21 engine and the one in the picture is near as dammit identical (except yours looks cleaner!).
