New brake disks for NC30

Post by epinephrin » Sat Jun 22, 2013 7:10 pm

Hi guys, I recently bought an NC30.
Having just taken it to have a MOT they found one of my front disks is cracked. I've been looking at a few online and was just wondering what would be best to go for.

I've found some second hand OEM disks on eBay, also found some reasonable looking Chinese disks here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Front-Brake-R ... 4abcf55e99

Has anyone had any luck with these? If not is it worth getting the second hand disks, or trying to find somewhere that'll sell new OEM disks?

Cheers

Welcome to the forum.

Best place to get discs from, and most other V4 parts for that matter, is Rick Oliver.

His stocklist is at the top of the V4 general section on here and has his details on it ;)

Thanks for the responses guys! I reckon I'll take the plunge with the wavy Arashi Chinese disks, they seem solid and are over half the price of the Rick Oliver set.

Should probably update this, got the rotors month before last and they're great so far. No fitment issues even though they are thicker than stock i believe. RB did say they might start pulsing after 1000km. Nearly there and no signs of that yet. :)

Also, there seems to be 3x different kinds of rear disk. One is usually very cheap ($20 aud) another is slightly more and the last about $50-60aud. I got the most expensive one for the rear and the quality is excellent as well.

Braking power is awesome with the ferodo race pads. Have inadvertantly stoppied it a few times haha!
