You may of seen in my other thread: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=42236
About having a annoyingly rattle/noise coming from the front. I've started this thread as I would like to secure my front V piece and lower fairings better.
My lower fairings sort of hang of sideways as they are only attached by the near bolts and hanging on the crash bungs. Is there a way of pulling thee in tighter or can someone send me a clear photo of the front lugs (mien are missing so ill have to fashion some new ones) then I'll post a wanted to the spacer parts.
My front V piece also wobble front to back (not just side to side due to the lose fairings) and is only attached at the top to the headlight surround. If I could get some photos of what the piece looks like on the lower fairings that the hole at the very bottom bolts through onto that would be great as I'm thinking of just making something out of a nut and bolt then permanently fastening the nut onto the lower fairings to simply bolts into from outside.
I hope this post makes sense as I'm really just asking for advice or if there's any known solutions.
Cheers
Ben

Hi.
have you actually taken all the fairings apart and off the bike? If you do you will see a groove in the front edge of lower fairings that hold the v panel in place, once in place you screw 5 retaining screws through the v panel into the lowers and the two upper screws into the Nosecone.
Although its difficult to understand what's happened in your case without pics, but I would imagine the lowers have snapped off at the bottom not securing the V panel or the lowers.
Ballache I know, but the easiest way is to take the lowers and V panel off the bike and separate them, clean all the crud off them and see what is missing and takes pics.

Have indeed. Yes its in the groove and the two tabs are also in place. None of the five retaining screws can be done due to missing parts. Hence i need to build something that can work instead.

But you said " the lowers just hang" if the lowers just hang then they won't secure the V panel in place.
Even without all the screws in place if the lowers are secured properly it wouldn't allow the V panel to rattle.

I think its best you remove the panels and take some pics. There are ways of fixing tabs but worse case senario just fix the lowers and v piece as one piece, it can make fitting and removing them a little tricky without a paddock stand to lift the bike slightly but with a little care its possible. I actually prefer one piece lowers to pissing about with all those fixings and often remove the lowers complete, just place a blanket under the bike to prevent any scratches

Indeed they aren't securing the V panel. But they panel is in the groove and with the tabs around it. Hopefully photos tomorrow will show you what I mean. May do another video.

Will do next time I have the panels off (tomorrow afternoon maybe dependant on weather) unfortunately i use an ABBA stand. do you think getting the front lift arm for the ABBA stand would make this work or do i need a proper set of paddock stands? Find it awkward as is removing the lowers, especially as they've now got to pop over the crash sliders too!

Where do you put the cable ties through? Thanks for the response but quite happy spending bit of time for a more permanent fix.

So here's a video, at the start i was trying to show the amount of movement but didn't realise it had popped out again, in the video I pop it back in. I then went on a 120km ride and when i returned it had come out again, then put it back in before a 1km ride (petrol) and it had come out again. Think it needs to be held mroe securely by using the bolts.

I can't view the video as it says its private.
But like you have been told, you need to take the fairings off and see what lugs and fasteners are missing.

All lugs are missing, some of the bottom one is there but I'm not sure what it's supposed to look like. Hopefully the weather will be good again tomorrow and I'll clean the bike and take some photos.
