Brake pedal (how to straighten?)

Post by tigerclaw » Fri May 17, 2013 10:10 pm

My brake pedal has a couple of non standard kinks in it  its more or less straight but at the same time its a little wavy... What the trick to straightening it? Can you heat it with a torch and bend it or it is going to vapourise? Thanks

Yes use a torch Otherwise it will snap,Clamp the peddle in a vice grip the shaft end,
Grip the other end or sleeve a piece of tube over,Heat the area to straighten Wile keeping pressure on the peddle,

If you heat it then rub a bit of wood against it, the wood will scorch (leave a black line) when its hot enough to bend, tho if its cast it may snap anyway........

If that fails then any engineering shop will heat it up and press it straight for you.
