cbr400 nc23 starting issues

i just picked up my new track/race bike this morning and when i went to pick the bike up the guy couldnt get it to start which isnt a major issue to me, he said it has been stored all winter and not used so recommended changing the spark plugs and putting in new fuel.

the bike turns over fine no strange clicking noises or anything it just doesnt fire, can anyone suggest nything else i need to do/ check to get it to fire i dont think it can be much.

Hi. first thing to check is it getting fuel? Take out the plugs, see if they are wet with fuel. If there no sign of unburnt fuel, check the fuel pump is working. Turn over the starter, and feel the pump with the other hand, You should feel a slight vibration as the pump works. Next if getting fuel, check for a spark at the plug. rest a plug in its HT lead against the engine, turn over again and look for a spark. this will give you a basic idea of where to start looking for problems.

My resistor mod to derestrict the CDI on my NC23 recently decided to disconnect itself. This ended up frying the black and white wire all the way up to the right hand switch gear. Might be worth a look!

Cheers guys all sorted just popped some new plugs in and a lightweight race battery from Graeme France and she started first time!
