2inch Shorty Moto GP from eBay

Post by switchwa » Thu Apr 11, 2013 12:48 am

Hey guys,

So i've found a nice, small pipe muffler on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-0-BLACK-Short ... 2c61d7c4f9.

I'm wondering, if i just weld this straight onto the pipe will i need to make any modifications... will i have to worry about back pressure levels, rejetting the carbs or anything?!

does anyone have any experience with these pipes?

It looks gash mate :| And it'll sound awful.
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

What he said.

Short cans are usually totally shit.

They sound bad, offer no real gains...and look bobbins!

however, if you did do it, then you may as well get it onto a dyno to get the fuelling setup as I would think it would affect it.

EDIT> I just looked at it - it is worse that I though. That would be a total pile of shit. Don't do it!

When put a straight through pipe on my nc29 it sounded amazing but ran like absolute shit. When I put the standard silencer back on I was well happy because I got a boost in power lol. Ever since then I've left well alone unless they are rusted and knackerd. But that's just me.
