changing an nc29 stater motor, any tips?

as the title says really, will be looking to swap out the old one for a replacement one on Saturday and was wondering if anyone has any helpful tips that might make the job a bit easier. My mechanical skills are next to none so I am expecting a fair amount of head scratching and cursing. I will have on hand a couple of equally non mechanical chum's who will probably be scratching their heads just as much but cursing less. I always think it is better to have more than 1 set of eyes on the job. So if anyone has any hints or tips before I go out there and get stuck in, it would be mucho appreciated.

Remove:

Tank
Battery (for safety reasons)
Airbox
Carbs

Then it's a piece of pi$$ to get at

no need to remove carbs, i didnt.
You will find some of the bolts on the old starter motor will be rusted up so try & squirt WD40 on them the day before.
& small hands help....!

thanks for the replies, after a quick phone call to Graeme France on Saturday who kindly took the time to give me some technical help over the phone help, a quick trip to a shop to get a long enough screw driver, and a download of the haynes manual I managed to get the starter motor swapped out. Upon taking the old starter motor apart it looked like a bearing (I presume it was a bearing as there was a load of dust and a bunch of tiny balls inside) had disintegrated inside it. The replacement had the bike started in a jiffy. Lovely job.

Not strictly necessary I agree. Unless you have Incredible Hulk sized hands, but it makes life easier and it's only a five minute job.

hi guys, i need some help. i hav an 91 NC29, it starts and idles fine. But one time, i forgot push off kickstand before i ride -> engine off. Then it doesn't start again, I hear only "clicks" sound for starter relay. I should recharge battery, buy new battery but starter motor doesn't rotate

. I read the Haynes's manual book and try find some problem.

Is it true that the fault at starter motor ? The carbon rush in starter motor is low ?

And I'm new rider, please teach me how to replace starter motor
