Hi Folks, new to the site. Currently stripping a NC30 which hasn't run in a few years.
I've stripped and cleaned the carbs, checked the valve clearances and all seems ok. I checked the plugs and all are sparking ok. Put the carbs back on to see if it fired up and it did. The bike ticked over no probs and appeared to be ok. On touching the exhaust manifolds out of each cylinder, cylinder 1 and 2 are warm up 3 and 4 are cool. I didn't sync the carbs as I wanted to see if if started up first.
Any ideas? I'm guessing fuel or syncing the carbs might help. But any suggestions would be welcome. Going to sync the carbs at the weekend to see of that clears it.
Cheers

Do all 4 get hot with the choke on? Of so it's pilot circuit in the carbs are blocked. I find it far easier to sync the carbs by eye using the 3 holes in the Venturi.

Try synching them first like beermonster said, but if that fails then it's a good bet that the pilot circuit is blocked. They can sometimes be unblocked using carb cleaner and compressed air, but the most thorough way is to get ghe carbs ultrasonically cleaned.
Blocked carbs are common, particularly if the bike was laid up with fuel still in the carbs.

Cheers folks,
Beermoster, their still cool with the choke on full. i had to run it on the choke for a while when it first started as the idle was out so it kept cutting out. It's adjusted now so it ticks over, just 3&4 were cool after it running for 10 mins. I'll strip the carbs off again and have a look. I might try and empty the float bowls and see if there's fuel in 3 & 4.
Ill let you know how I get on!! Here's hoping its just the carbs!
