WANTED carb balancing guide

Post by Adderboy » Mon Dec 24, 2012 3:24 pm

OK so I've decided to spend my much needed holiday giving my bike some winter love as its been stuttering and misfiring a bit recently  my Carb slides were a bit rough so I've sorted that and given them a clean, valve clearances are all OK, as I did them not too long ago but checked them anyway. Sticking a new exhaust on swell so decided to balance the carbs, hoping this will help stop it running so rich.
So Lon story short any advice on Carb balancing? Never don before and could use some tried and tested tips.
Cheers F

Oh also re-gapped sparks and have new air filter

Balancing the carbs won't stop it running rich, sort that out THEN balance the carbs.

Yeah read through it earlier, good guide but no balancing procedure I forgot to mention I have rvf carbs in my nc30 aswell hope fully the Carb cleaning and sorting out the slides will help with the rich running the air filter was pretty blocked swell so fingers crossed it will smell a bit healthier after all this, prior to actually balancing them
Cheers

Balance them by eye using the 3 holes in the Venturi always works well for me

+1 on balancing them by eye, did mine yesterday, they were so bad that at idle one butterfly was completely closed, and it was running on 3 cylinders, sounds unbelievable now :D :D
