Soft suspension nc21?

I was just wondering is the nc21 1986 designed with a soft suspension as I got the bike back from the garage and they said it was soft? There are no leaky seals that I can see. So was wondering if they are meant to be like that or be firm?
Thanks

Most JDM bikes were set up soft from the factory to suit the lower weights of the average Japanese rider. Plus there's a good chance that your shock is probably 25 years old; and hence knackered.
A new shock would be your best bet.

Oh I see fair enough will look into it, do you know roughly how much they retail at?

Front and back on the NC21/24 is extrememly soft.
This is typical of early - mid 80s hondas.
Providing it isnt leaking then it isnt worth upgrading, you will spend upwards of 350 quid on even a half decent rear shock and the front will cost at least as much, on a bike thats only worth around 500 quid to start with it isnt very economical.
Sounds normal. See my reply in this post

You can get some aftermarket springs which will stiffen it up a little but that NC2x suspension is never going to set the world alight.
Dont let that put you off though, just becuase it isnt onpar with a 2012 motogp bike does not mean it isnt ok as it is.
