Oil leaking

Post by Jac-al » Sat Nov 03, 2012 1:53 pm

Hi, I had an accident 2months ago where my NC30 flipped over, luckily only cosmetic damage. Since the accident the bike was running well although It had a little too much oil. All of a sudden now the bike is leaking oil, It looks like its coming from behinf the cover where the gear change pedal is bt the front sprocket. I cleaned it yesterday and went for a ride, the gears were rather hard to shift and when I got back there was oil allover the sump and even on the swingarm and and also a little on the plugs, its also making a tickin noise. Pls help, I don't wanna ride it anymore incase I damage something

Sounds like you may have bent the gearchange shaft and the oil is leaking past the seal.
0r you have damaged the case.

Howsit, just took it for a ride and there's no power and its making a horrible noise, the tickin has gotten louder too. Soiunds like somethings given in. Another odd thing is everytime I check the oil its different, ranging from full to empty. Could I have blown something?

My bro says he thinks there is, I haven't taken notice. I'm gonna go check in a bit, if it does is that a bad thing? Or should I ask how bad?

Just checked it out and yes, it does smell like fuel. What could the damage be?

I will put money on that the engine is ruined.

Never run an engine that is making odd noises until you have checked the oil is clean and full.

Your oil should change between full and empty unless your measuring it wrong... where did it go?

The oil is clean, I did a change about 500km ago and I keep puttin in if it shows its low. My bro said the bike did the same thing last week and then just came right on its own. Very confused now

if there is fuel smell coming from the oil.. then your fuel has mixed in with the oil. this happend to me once. dont run the bike, the viscosity of the oil will be lower than it should be because its mixed with petrol. chances are.. engine ruined. i used to have an old 125 cc scooter and it was a pile of shit, and it was on its way to the scrap yard, so i decided to run the bike with no oil. guess what happend? strange noises, ticking, clashing, cloking.... then *CLONK* engine got jammed. wouldnt turn over anymore. it was an experiment i wanted to do. so dont start flaming me.

How much oil was put in at the oil change and subsequently after in 500km use?
