hrc cdi?

I have an import .nc30 with the restricted mid range cdi. But what I want to know is, is it worth getting the hrc cdi? Are they any good I'm looking at getting one from gavin with jap4performance. The bike has a tyga exhaust system airbox and hi flow airfilter with bigger jets so I'm looking for a slightly easier/free mid range.

I have an ignitech cdi with hrc map on from Graeme france and the bike has never run better, its so smooth and idle's perfect.
He sells them for the nc30 aswell

Do you mean the CDI or the piggyback unit? im guessing the piggyback unit as HRC cdi's are uber rare and if gavin had one i'll be banging his door down for it :) It also wont fit a standard loom either.

Theres actually nothing wrong with your standard cdi, you just need a 2p resistor wired in or if you wanna be posh get the HRC or Mmax piggyback box but dont get suckered into to paying over the odds for it. It is at the end of the day a 2p resistor in a fancy box.

Or go for a Ignitech from rick o, about £135 i think

There is no such thing as a restricted mid-range ignition box.

The JDM (Japanese market bikes) are restricted by top-speed only, something that is overcome by cutting the disc in the speedo for free.

For most standard bikes proper jetting is all you need.

These bikes are known to have a dip in the mid range transition phase (7000-8000rpm) as stock due to lean jetting, adding a 0.5mm shim under the needles will usually fix this up, Rick O sells the shims for about a pound for 4.

i have done the rick oliver mod and thats what i meant by the mid range power loss. and like i said i have re jetted for the full tyga race system and airbox with the hiflo filter.

just came across it on ebay! and wanted to know more about them and if anyone had used them! so are they worth it?

That a ignitech and im not wanting to lose gav business but rick sells them with all the maps for £135, £200 is a bit salty.

Your not going to gain anything from fitting one of them although rick does do a map for it which eliminates the mid range dip.

thanks drunkn munky! so in other words its not worth it hahaha it was literally something i came across and thought it sounded like something that could be useful! but it doesnt matter now!

I wouldnt say there not worth it, if you wanna tune the ignition to suit your motor and like playing with adjustments go for it, if your just going to stick it on your stock bike and forget about it then no i think your wasting your money, spend it on a trackday, beer or hookers

haha thanks for the advice! but i know itl definitely be bugging me now and i may go for the programmable unit! just for a fiddle haha! but im happy with it at the moment ive only been on it a week already fallen in love! but ive got money burning a hole in my pocket im sure the majority of people on here know how i feel!
