NC35 - AFAM Sprocket Question

Post by Pete Diggs » Thu Jun 28, 2012 6:51 am

Hey Guys,

I'm installing a 15 tooth AFAM front sprocket on my RVF.

However it looks like one side towards the center is wider than the other.

Does the wider side face out or the shorter one?

Thanks for your help!

I'm pretty sure the 35 is the same as the 30 and the larger shoulder and writing sits on the outside.

Don't wish to confuse things, but the O.E. sprockets come with equally sized shoulders, in which case the Afam wider shoulder should face in, so as to offset it as per standard?
Here's a pic off David Silver that may help decide:

If its a 520 conversion front sprocket the wider sholder will face outwards 525 pitch looks even.

Ah yes, it does make sense if the pitchs are different!
Cheers.

If in doubt, sit it on the spline in both directions and peer down the line from the rear sprocket, you will be able to tell the correct orientation from this perspective.
