Hello all,

I bought my rvf400 about 6 weeks ago and have spent many hours in the garage since. New disks, new sprockets, chain, sevice, fairing repairs, spraying........ its everlasting but i did say iwanted a project!

Im now in the process of tuning as it seems to be running rich which was puzzling me as its standard apart from a scorpion end can. However i got the carbs off today for a clean and was surprised/relived to see 115 written on the underside, on each bowl. So im thinkin the jets have been changed. :?

Anyway to cut to the chase, i want to sync the carbs when ive cleaned them but cant identify the vacuum take off points. Ive possibly noticed them on cylinders 1,2 and 3 just under the rubber carb joints. But on number 4 there doesnt seem to be anything :? any help would de gratefully received

i just had the same problem, if you look on the inlet manifold of number 4 cylinder, there is the vacuum pipe that attaches to the tank, this is the take off you use for carb balancing.

Yeah, you'll need to use that vacuum spigot for the carb balancer and knock up some sort of auxiliary tank since the main one will no longer be vacuum fed.

sorry I'm talking crap... the vacuum take off for the tank is on cylinder number 3 (the back right cylinder as your sat on the bike)

cylinder number 4 (front right Cyl as your sat on the bike) take off is hidden on the right side of the inlet tract between the frame, you access it between the frame and the thermostat housing on the right side of the bike. the screw is very long and a bit of a bitch to get the carb balancing attachment into (carb tune in my case)
