NC23 STARTING ISSUE

Morning All,

Just installed a new engine in my nc23 (valves clearances checked etc...).

Bike struggles to start cold or hot. Turns over fine but will not fire, keep turning it over and it will backfire but still not start. When you do get it started it runs fine on tickover and throughout the power curve. Choke does nothing and neither does giving it some throttle as you try and start it.

Plugs, coils and leads all checked, contacts cleaned on ecu, carbs balanced.

Not sure if it's related but the bike tends to bog down when pulling away from a standing start.

Any suggestions welcomed!

Thanks all.

C

Air leak when reftting carbs?

Easi Start Spray all over the base of the carbs to see if the engine changes revs when running, mine did and I thought the carbs were on nice and tight. Though I used a WD40 type oil but sprayed as a mist. Still did the same thing.

At least you can get it running.

yes i agree i have had this on bikes before and its too much air getting in, make sure all 4 manifold pipes used for balancing are totallt blocked off again,
it could also be a lack of fuel, check vacum pipes,
good luck mate.
