cbr400 nc29 race bike fitted with cam chain!!

Post by davidsimon10 » Tue Mar 13, 2012 4:51 pm

we have built a few cbr400 nc 29 engines for this season 2012
we have removed the cam gears and fitted cam chains to the engines with loads of other mods.
removing the gears has allowed us to skim the heads to increse horse power and torque .
the bike is now pulling twice as much load .
have a look and let us know what you think ?

ps the bike belongs to colin martin

Fantastic, more details please, power/torque etc compared to stock.

Hi David,

Great project, thanks for sharing :rocks:

What race mileage would you estimate on the cam chain?

Thanks,

Jeff

Good work!

Let us all know when you convert a V4 to chain drive.

David are you planning on making this kit available for sale? As in a whole kit ready to be bolted in? Awesome work. I'm sure it took many hours of development work.

took the bike for its first outing today, limited the revs, to keep things safe and after a few electrical issues (my fault (Col) we went out and won the NG F400 race today... so all looking good so far...:)

Cool project, although for street bikes it'd be a horrible shame to throw out the engineering masterpiece which is gear driven cams.

I am guess you used parts from a CB400 superfour? That has the same basic engine but uses a camchain.
