Not an NC24 owner but would like to help. When you say a leak, is petrol running or dripping out or just wet? Is it worse when you pull on the choke?

It is weeping but left over weekend and it must have drained the carb as a big pool on the floor same if choke on or of at the moment I've got tap to the off position and drained carb so it's dry at the moment

Does the NC24 have vacuum operated fuel tap?

So with tap in ON position there is an immediate leak of petrol, same applies with engine running and you can see the wet area on the carby with the tank in place, I ask because on an NC30 you cannot see any of the engine with tank and seat in place.

Yes if bike off I think only leaking from what is in the carb if runing a constant leak. On the nc 24 you can see a small part of engin/carb with tank in place

Assuming the leak is from the choke plunger pin, I would suspect the seal in the plunger retaining nut is faulty. If the plunger pin is visible then perhaps you can remove the retaining nut and check the seal.

However I would not have expected much petrol would leak from this point even with a faulty seal. For a large leak I would suspect a split petrol hose to that particular carby or a leaky joint at the petrol inlet point for that carby.

I know I have offered up lots of possibilities, hope it helps to locate your the problem.
