NC30 not starting

Hi All

I'm new to the forum and I have a big problem

I've been a proud owner of a NC30 for the past few months now. Unfortunately I had a fall on the bike and cracked my crankcase cover along with clutch basket and plates. So I had them replaced and when attempting to start the bike it swings then backfires. I then figured that the plugs needed 2 be replaced, did that and now my bike swings but doesn't start,no backfire though.

Please any help would be much appreciated.

I really miss riding my bike,I'm totally lost on what else to do.

Who did the repairs, is everything back in the correct place?. Sounds like no fuel, is the vacuum hose to the fuel tap connected, does fuel flow under engine vacuum. If you have fuel flow then pull the spark plugs, rest them on the heads and check for spark when cranking.

Just a query, how are you checking that the fuel is flowing?

Obviously check all the dummy stuff first,

Fuel tap on, Kill switch off, vaccum pipe connected, battery charged up, fuel in tank etc.

The start to think about why it might not work.

My first thought would be that the ignition pickups are in the same side as the clutch basket, were they checked / inspected / replaced if needed after that side of the engine was repaired?

If the clutch got a bashing then there is a chance they are damaged too, maybe a wire.

Check you have the proper ohm readings from them and you have a good connection back to the igntition box to isolate, without them no spark.

Since you were getting some backfiring they might be working and your getting a spark, but worth a check anyway.
