vfr750 engine in a nc30 frame???
Hello,
i havnt been on here for a while now but i have been missing my old vfr400 (wish i never got rid of her now) and although i have a new bike (aprilia rsv) it aint like the old vfr i had. i have been thinking alot lately about trying to create a bike that handles like a 400 but has almost the power of the rsv.
so with that in mind i have thought about a 750vfr engine transplanted into a nc30 frame. Then what do i find your very own rick oliver has done this, but with a rc30 frame! the rc30 frame is going to be like gold dust to find and way to expensive(i think).
what i need to know (as i dont have either in possesion) is one will the 750 motor fit in the frame? the width of the 750 motor (rear cyclinder head, and frount and the offset) and the internal width of the vfr400 nc30 frame.
if any one has a detailed drawing of dimesions of the frame or engine please can you forward it on to me. also if anyone has any comments of if its possible or pointers im open to listening.
many thanks in advance
tristan

Hi Tristan, Its Smev here!
I'm back In Penzance now and still have my NC30.
If you are back down this way any time, feel free to come and make some measurements!
Plus I have a load of bits / spares which could be handy for your project!!

Re: vfr750 engine in a nc30 frame???
Thanks smev, ill be down this weekend. tho may not have time to catch up! i will defo be in touch about spares tho. i may just email you if i need sizes etc. i read the post about 750 frame u put up agaes ago saying that the castrol bike has 750 frame rails cut off and re welded onto the nc30 frame. after looking thro a load of pics etc i have come to the conclusion that they look like original nc30 frount mounts so it could be even easier than i first though( obviously not easy but a little more straight forward). Anyway how you doing and how come your back in pz again?

Re: vfr750 engine in a nc30 frame???
Front mountings are new, right hand one is a long tubular mount, bolts to front of crankcase.
Engine is a very tight fit, difficult to work on.

thanks arsey30 (i see what you did there) does this mean you have done this conversion then? does anyone have any pics of the clearance between cyclinder head and frame, looking from above it? and also the said frame mounts?
