will get charge rates to you have checked altinator all checks out reg/rect is new old 1 burnt out and replaced plug, lights off is 14.8 @battery that drops with side lights on and then with main lights on you can watch the volts on meter dropping ie 12.5-12.4-12.2 ect and drops below 12 whilst running. it like it not charging with the lights on

ok guys here's your info battery = 12.25v so thats fucked, idle lights off = 14.20v  5000rpm =14.9v  Lights on idle = 12.15v :( 5000rpm = 12.30 :( so put another ok battery on and battery = 12.8 ok, idle =14.2 ;) 5000rpm = 14.9  lights on idle = 12.20v :( 5000rpm =12.60 :( so checked everything else altinator ac = 47,48,49 ac/v at yellows so thats good, tested resistance all at 00.6 again good so put put used r6 reg/rect on in replace of the new aftermarket 1 and we have battery = 12.80v 8-) idle lights off = 14.25v 8-) 5000rpm = 14.80v 8-) lights on idle 13.95v 8-) 5000 rpm = 14.25v with high beam ect all on so looks like a duff new reg/rect cheers for input Phil

Yep.

CBR aftermarket regulator would be the problem.

Going to assume it's one of the cheap 20gbp Chinese knock offs?

There shite!

The R6 r/r is fantastic value for money.. 2nd hand ones can be had delivered for around 20gbp if you shop hard enough.

ive got the same problem and have recently purchased a R6 reg
problem is i dont have a clue what i need to do with the wiring coz the R6 reg didnt come with any wires on it
could anyone tell me which colours from the original wiring i would need to connect to which pin on the R6?
