There's a number of them on Ebay for ridiculously low prices (even cheaper than stock CDI), does anyone have any experience with these? as much as it sounds like a Hoax or a lemon, some have been sold and I'm curious to know if they actually work.

They work...and they then allow your motor to over rev and kill itself..

So, the general consensus on here has been - don't do it!

Phew that's close, I needed to replace my CDI because I'm assuming it's become faulty. Saw them Chinese ones claiming they're derestricted for a price below stock ones, instantly raised an eyebrow knowing HRC ones are well over 300 quid. But thought I may as well give them a 'try' since they were so cheap.

Thanks for the warning guys! :D

ProndogUK - I was originally only looking for a replacement CDI but you have an interesting proposition. I'm assuming they're similar to the HRC racing ones?

P.S: Oh and are chinese regulator/rectifiers reliable? considering how reliable stock ones are, I thought I may as well switch them out with an aftermarket one while I'm at it. Cheers.

Chinese ones are shite.

You can easily fit a Yamaha R6 (1999-2005) Reg-Rec which are much larger and bullet-proof to your bike. 2nd hand ones can be picked up cheaply.

Google Ignitech, they have a website.

There fully programmable ignition units with a range of maps already available. (HRC / Stock / etc)
