1 question.

what year is your NC23?
the speed de-limiter/resistor mod ONLY works on NC23-K models.

+ if your bike is the K model, email me as i sell the Mod kits with instructions for fitting at both ends of the bike..
or check ebay as i have the kits on there too.

I think you answered my question there, I have not got a clue if my bike is the "K" model??? Its on a F 1989.

I am quite confident in electronics, so I have already made my own lepod_pagen :D all it is is a 20p resistor and a bit of shrink wrap :D.

If this is not possible I will remove the disk inside the clocks. Wouldn't the wires inside the clocks match the color going into the cdi box? If so I would of thought the black/white would be earth and all I'd have to do is find the limiter's wire and cut it. I would of thought ? But I don't dare because 19 year electronics tends to be a bit temperamental

i have a how to set of instructions on how to make the mod and how to fit it. i can email that to you for nowt. the kits are aimed at people who dont want or know how to make the mod and just want a quick easy plug n play kit.

when i get home i'll have a look at the manual to see which model of NC23 you have. K or not.

leopard_pagan@yahoo.com is my email. pop me an email so i can attach the file for you.

if its the blue label cdi its the k model
the gold label cdi from the j works better, plug it in and away you go.

Why not just get the kph to mph converter? that should do away with all the 115mph restriction.

If you dont want to do that, you can take the speedo apart and cut back the disc that gets in the way of the sensor. Its a 2 stage sensor and the first stage is the 50mph speedlight. The second stage is the top end restrictor.

I did mine by taking the speedo apart and then holding the needle at the relavent speeds and seeing what small tiny bits of metal were in the way of the sensors. Sharp scissors were fine to snip away the offending bits of metal.

The kph to mph converter is much easier though. it also means that you can take off any speedo overlays and see what your speed is at night.
Too many bikes, so little time!

Resistor- 20p and an hr max
mod kit-£7 15-30 mins
manual converter-£29.95 minus postage +/- £5... less than 5mins
remove disk from inside speedo £free- 30 mins max.... high possibility you fu ck up your speedo (£??) if your not careful. NOT recommended for anyone who isnt mechanically minded.

option 1 is best for budget and those who like a bit of a challenge.
option 3 is a bit costly but can confuse MOTers when dial face displays kph but reads mph when bike is moving. + if you sell can also sound dodgy to new-comers "oh the odo is a mixture of kilometre's, then miles after i fitted the converter...."

personally i removed the disk from inside the speedo.. broke 1 speedo even though i was careful!
and fitted a Mph face, speed in mph, odo and trip in klms. then fitted a custom white dial set

Im not sure to whether i have broken the speedo or not. If i remove the metal disk inside the speedo, will it read in mph or kph?

dude, read your other post for the reply.

and if you removed the disk with out care.. then yes you probably have busted it! the disk mod is a delicate job.
