Front brake disc options for the track?

Post by LUCAS » Tue Aug 23, 2011 10:56 pm

Im turning my NC29 into a permanent track day bike and wanted to upgrade the front brakes but keeping the original calipers hopefully simply as i bought all new pistons, seals etc and rebuilt them.

Im running braided hoses, standard discs with Carbone Lorraine pads. They are ok but not as good as my RVF setup with standard discs/ Brembo SC pads combo. I have tried my brothers Galfer discs with EBC HH pads setup on his NC29 and it was far superior and bloody awesome.

I was originally looking at Galfer discs simply as i have tried it and know how good they are but wanted to ask for advice.

1) What other discs are worth looking at? I have seen Brembo discs advertised in the past but can't find them advertised anymore.

2) Who is the best place to buy Galfer or Brembo or other discs from?

Thank you

Thanks

the c90 fits on and looks really nice, you can take a stick with you to fro in the front wheel for very good stopping power

Found M&P for Galfers: http://www.mandp.co.uk/productInfo.aspx?catRef=540346

A selection from Demon Tweeks including Brembo: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Applicati ... 9405-394-C

EBC blue centers.

coupled with CL SBK pads my 29 would stand on its nose no worries.

Galfer are excellent.
I run Carbonne Lorraine or SBS in my bikes.
I have standard disks but give them fresh fluid every year or so, and my stopping power is awesome.
In fact using SBS fast street on the race R6 is scary as they bite at the lightestes touch. I like to be able to brake into bends deeply as 400's are about corner speed rather than late braking as they don't have a lot of power, though mine will get out of bends quicker than most.
