New rear brake calliper for NC30...?
Hello
It turns out my rear calliper is damaged beyond repair and my local garage has advised me Honda do not sell NC30 rear callipers any longer. Is this true?
If so where can you get a replacement or reconditioned one? Or is there another from a model that still exists that you can buy new?
Any help would be great!
Thanks

you can pick up a used rear caliper on here no problem.
post an ad in the parts for sale/wanted section.....
how is it beyond repair? are you sure it just doesn't need a strip down, clean up and rebuild.. a really easy job for a beginner.. If i can do it, anyone aged 10 and above can! :)

Its just been rebuilt, new seals and all but it is still seizing on. The garage basically said its beyond repair and this is just a temporary repair, however it has only lasted about 6 miles and now its seizing again.
Ill post an ad. cheers!

sounds to me like the sliders are seized, therefore not letting the caliper move away and seizing on. Where are you? Maybe a local friendly greybikerist can come give you a hand?

Just another idea, is it at all possible that the problem lies with the master cylinder? I remember ages and ages ago someone had a similar problem on another forum, and I think it was related to the m/c in some way.

Have you stripped your caliper down before? If you have, check parts 19 and 20 aren't rusted up, if they are, get a little bit of wet and dry, and scrub it off, then grease it well. Check the rubber boots are in good condition (not letting any crap it to seize it up) and go from there.

Added a bit for you, don't forget normal grease swells rubber seals so if it's not seized yet, then that'd do it over the course of a couple months.BillingCBR wrote:Have you stripped your caliper down before?
