Chain Breaker/Rivet Tool
I've read a lot online about some of these being a bit flimsy and breaking after one use.
Can anyone recommend a decent make?

Re: Chain Breaker/Rivet Tool
I bought this one a couple of years ago for almost £60 as it had some great reviews on another site:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Chain-Cutter-an ... sbs_auto_1
It's certainly at a good price compared to when i got mine! It's a solid/ heavy duty tool. Has been used for about half a dozen chains and it's like new. Does the job a treat.

We have them at work- hell, we've got a saw with a 6ft radius! Not too good for riveting the chain ON to the sprockets, though?porndoguk wrote:Angle Grinder FTMFW!

That does look the bee's knees, though with the Whale link extractor it's almost £100.CRM wrote:two words - Whale Brand

Im using a 520 RK Takasago Chain, throwaway chains at £20 a pop, RK are one of the best chains out there, one of the oldest companies too,Man_Named_Dave wrote:That does look the bee's knees, though with the Whale link extractor it's almost £100.CRM wrote:two words - Whale Brand

look at the original honda parts catalogue for the NC30 and its a 525 RK chain, and most of the older endurance bikes used RK chains and i think still do

Re: Chain Breaker/Rivet Tool
I'm happy to give them a go, especially as I can't really afford the break/rivet tool right now.porndoguk wrote:Im using a 520 RK Takasago Chain, throwaway chains at £20 a pop, RK are one of the best chains out there, one of the oldest companies too,
