I suspect this may be because the previous owner sprayed the wheels with the tyres still on the rim and the paint that over sprayed onto the valves has degraded the rubber? it looks all dry and manky.
So now i need to get new valves put in both wheels

Anyone know how much this is likely to cost- getting the rear wheel off is going to be a pig of a job (£££), no?

just read the haynes, looks like the rear wheel isn't so bad. i was imagining having to remove the swing arm. phew...
