Putting the bike back together after doing the carbs and valve clearances and i cant figure out for the life of my how to route the fuel tank breather pipe! Everywhere i try it gets pinched or just in the way!

Anyone got any pictures or can describe the route for me?

It really doesn't matter. It is a breather. Just snake it between the frame and tank somewhere near the breather valve.

I cant get it to fit between the frame and the tank without it making the tank not seat properly when i try and put it back on...

There should be plenty of room between the tank and frame - do you have all the correct rubber mounts for the tank? One at the front, one at the rear, and some blocks for down the sides?

The breather Is in 3 parts connected by t piece sat just behind the carbs. The left t piece runs around the side of the carbs just under them then it loops under the snorkle on the airbox then up through the loop on the fairing stay then on to the tank. If the tank jams against the frame pinching the pipe your missing the tank rubbers that prevents this from happening.

You should have a front rubber that fits between the headstock and tank two block rubbers that slot on the rim of the tank and rest on the frame and finally a flimsy rubber that locates on the back of the tank that bolts into the frame.

Try Geoff33 for some second hand ones first.

i seem to only have the rear one...and thats not in the best of nick!

so once these are replaced there is room for the breather pipe to run from the tank, through the guide the fairing then straight down to pass between the tank and the frame, under the airbox snorkel, over the the left of the engine and down past the throttle linkage on the carbs to the t-piece?

Yes.
