VFR400 WP Rear shock fitting

Post by flyingorphan » Sun May 01, 2011 3:41 pm

Stripped the old rear shock off today, said in Haynes manual you can do with exhaust in place,..............!!! Didnt suceed,so exhaust came off.

Anyone got pics of the Wp shock fitted? as its abit different to the standard one. Dont want to fit it the wrong way.
Done couple of pics,.........my only concern of the way i dummy fitted is the Braided hose is close to rear tyre.

Just had another look, and swapped the shock 180 degrees.
So now the OEM bolt faces the correct way (as the Wp shock one half is threaded)

The shock fits alot better,no slack at all in the braided hose, and actually fits where the OEM canister goes. So i believe this is where it fits.

I don't understand what your problem with it is. If it's the way the braided line sits then very slightly crack the banjo bolt open and rotate it to the correct position.

:plus:
is it going to foul the rear tyre once fitted? it doesn't matter if it is close as long as it doesn't rub. These shocks are like hens teeth now so i would get it on quick ;)

Lol, i think im just gonna sell it and put on a decent OEM one. Check the for sale threads and Ebay shortly. Need cash for a R6 or RS250 aswel.
Did do a search for them,........and yes they are VERY very rare.
