Wonder if any of you can shed some light on the problem I'm having with my NC30.
A few weeks ago I was taking my bike the long way home from work and all of a sudden the bike lost power. Seemed a bit juddery, so I thought it was running out of fuel, turned the tap to reserve hoping the power would cut back in. No power at all, the bike just bogged down. Kicking down gears to keep the revs up did nothing so in the end I pulled the clutch in and it died. Went to collect the bike a few hours later, didn't want to start at first, but eventually kicked into life and ran fine on the way home. Gave it a quick once over, didn't notice anythig aparent and carried on using it for work etc.
Took it to Snetterton last Monday, ran beautifully all day (new track is awesome btw) on the ride back about 5miles from Snetteton the same thing happens again so I have to pull up on the hard shoulder. Police pull in behind me to make sure I'm alright and 10mins later it starts up again. Do about another 10-15miles and same thing happens again so had to push it to a layby. Called up the RAC and they took me home.
Got on the phone to Rick O told me to check the charging system, all seems within spec.
Any ideas whats wrong with it, started first time yesterday and ran fine on idle of 5mins.
Thanks in advance, Phil.

Re: NC30 randomly dying.
check the fuel breather hose connected to the back right carb? i changed this and it resolved all of my wierd running/starting issues.
The theory behind it is it heats up and collapses causing a fuel starvation/vacuum situation. My bike would run fine for a day then would be a sod to start the next day. After switching from reserve~on~off and thumbing the starter it would eventually go again. Rick Oliver advised changing it before spending silly money on other possible solutions.

Re: NC30 randomly dying.
This is a comon fault on these bikes and everybody will have their own stories on how to fix it, it is a process of elimination and as already mentioned the vacuum hose is a good place to start, the fuel feeds crack also and the regulator/rectifier is another issue wirth chasing(type in the search box "regulator/rectifier") by following the thread by Neosophist. Also check all the HT leads as these can become brittle over time and when hot they tend to brake down and earth out.
Good luck
