Im helping a friend put together a rather neat 29 which is in need of a few bits, firstly an exhaust. found a couple of nice 23 systems, BEET and HRC and have been told they may fit but thought id check with the CBR crew first
Next it has a HRC cdi, firstly i understand it needs some kind of wiring mod, can someone point me in the direction for some info on this. Also whats the general thoughts on HRC cdi's on 29's? is it worth having without the rest of the HRC kit?

From memory I think you need to move one of the wires over on the standard loom plug so it matches the HRC cdi but wait till someone backs me up on this as I cannae mind for sure.
Regarding the use of the HRC CDI if you are going for other mods then sure it is usefull, if you can get ahold of an genuine HRC exhaust I'd love to copy it, in return I am trying to get the HRC carb kit replictaed at the mo as I have two sets. Also I have recently had the 92 HRC manual translated into English so you could use this to get to SS/SP spec.

I've run the HRC CDI and standard at back to back sessions at a trackday and I can say my arse dyno definatly says it makes a noticable change in both power delivery and rev range, it is coupled with ramair and a Beet system though.
IIRC its the pulse coil wire you have to move...its dead easy I just cant remember which pin it is.
Yakama I would be interested in getting a translated copy of your manual, of course I would pay you for it.

I am working on getting a few made up to sell and try and recoup the cost of getting it translated. I have to alter the layout before its ready to be printed but I will let you know.
I'm also prob gonna get the 94 version translated too if I can find a good copy of it. The scanned copy I have is not the clearest so if anyone has an original that they can make a high quality scan of then I would give them a copy of the translated one once I have it done

Tony- i asked the same question a while back as i had a ti beet 23 pipe and a guy with a 29 was after buying it, after loads of reading it was said they fitted with a small mod but nobody could back this up so i eventually sold it to a guy with a 23.

What you see is pretty much all i have right now apart from a rear wheel which leads me on to my next question, I have searched and found very little on it but mainly it just links to fitting 29 wheels on a 23. I have 2 CBR 600 wheels 1 is 4.5 and the other is 5" wide, im told they fit but need to be machined in some way, can someone point me in the right direction for some info on this. Ideally id like to fit the 5" rim if possible.
