NC30 misfiring over 5K

A friend of mine has a 1993 NC30 which he is converting to a track bike. He has removed the speedo and cabels and the bike now starts misfiring badly over 5K. As I understand, the bike has a safety feature built into the CDI to stop the spark to 2 no plugs if the speedo is not detected.
Does any one know how to bypass this feature or have a wiring diagram for this.

Any help would be appreciated.

hey,

Easiest way is to take the little circuit board out of the speedometer, plug it back into the loom and wrap it in a plastic bag to make it water-proof if you are removing the clocks.

You can also get an M-Max etc box that you plug into where the clocks would be or use an after-market ignition box like the ignitech.

Finally I believe there is a resistor mod you can do but can't find any schematics at the moment (hopefully somebody on here will help)
