Hello,
I bought a front fork spring kit from Rick Oliver and i now have a bit of time off work, but before i jump in i got two questions:
how much oil do i need to put back into the forks when rebuilding?
and I don't have a drift to seat the washers/seals can i use a substitute if so what? if not does anyone know the part number to the tool or a link to the tool?
thanks for any help as this will reduce the downtime and more fun in the sun!
Slowsport.

Hi you will need 445cc of fork oil and that should be 74mm from the top of the fork.
It tells you this in the haynes manual

and you will need the haynes manual for this job just to make sure you have it all correctly fitted.
The fork seal driver from Honda is £117

you can get one from ebay for about £30 or get some steel tube teh right size.
But if you are not replacing the seals and just doing the Rick O upgrade then you will not need the driver (from what i understand).

The RO kit comes with a syringe with a length of tube to set the oil level

You can get cheaper tools off ebay, that will do the job just as well. But if the seals are fine then do them again

thanks guys,
yeah my seals are fine for now so i will leave for another time, but i think i might get the right diameter pipe as skinny suggested for the future so for now the springs matched to my weight will be a welcome upgrade and will keep me content for now!
thanks again!
