NC29 Missing 6th gear

Hi all, recently bought a CBR 400 NC29, unfortunately I cannot engage sixth gear! all others engage and pull smoothly but when looking for sixth cannot find anything there!! Does anyone have any ideas? there are no signs of it even trying to FIND ANYTHING (clicks or vibration from the lever) just allows the lever to lift fully then sweet F A!

The NC29 Gearbox wears the selector dogs easily.

You have 2 choices,

Replace the engine

Strip the motor and fic the selectors

If you decide on the first method let me know as I am after a engine with a knackered gearbox.

yerh 2 and 6 on the nc29 are the trouble gears if not looked after or high miles

I know on my bike when its just started I sometimes miss shift in 2nd when first engaged from cold, and occasionaly I would swear blind that I dont have a sixth gear, but my revs ( 40 = 4000rpm, 50 = 5000rpm etc..) seem to throw this out of the window, trouble is I never count my gears while going up and by then Im flying and cant be bothered to slow and check..

My bikes done 50000ish and will be coming out end of the year for a full check, atm its getting warmer and I just want to have fun!
