Hi guys, I took the bike out for a long ride, around 160 mile the other day when bike started to slightly shudder, carried on for around a mile then completely cut out on the motorway! Checked fuel around 2-3 liters still in there, put it on reserve ran fine, topped up no other dramas, any ideas?

Sounds normal, it ran out of fuel and you put it on reserve and it worked..
the normal fuel tap uses a taller "straw" than the res and so once the fuel level drops below the taller straw you got no fuel..

Good to know, was thinking of cleaning the tank out a bit anyhow just to make sure theres no gunk or anything obstructing. Is there a specific product i should use or am I alright unbolting and cleaning with water, or just flush wit petrol?
Thanks 4 reply

I would not do anything with it. Fuel is the best thing for fuel tanks and the knack of switching to reserve will come!

mmhm.. yup. theres no problem there. my nc35 has roughly 2-3 litres of reserve. it cuts out once i hit reserve, thats when i know i need to hunt for a petrol station soon.
