changed the springs not long ago for rick olivers, but the compression/rebound damping screw on both forks are seized to buggery. with lots of wd40 and elbow greese i managed to get some movement out of them, but far to stiff to adjust when together.
is there any fix for this, or will i just have to get new forks later down the road? cheapest options needed
cheers
dave

I don't quite follow how it can seize? It's a brass screw in an alloy adjuster, so should be OK? The only thing I can imagine is that it might want a new o-ring?
I have pulled apart a set of VTR1000F forks which I heard are more or less the same? I reckon it's just another one of those systems which once you pull it apart should be fairly obvious? If it helps, screw the adjuster screw in all the way (keep going!) and it will eventually drop out the bottom of the cap. You will need to be careful with your choice of tools in order not to round anything out. Once you've done that, it's just a question of cleaning up, applying some appropriate lube and maybe-maybe replacing an o-ring if it has swollen. I guess the worst it could want is the thread re-tapping?

nearly rounded the screw off trying to unseize them. spent quite a while at it. think replacements are the only way to go now
