Choice of 3 tyres.. which one

after reading tons of threads (information overload) i have narrowed my search for tyres down to three.
having never bought a new set before and only experience of BT92's, i am unsure what to order tomorrow.
there are three pairs that i have seen..
DUNLOP D209 QUALIFIER - £160
CONTI SPORT ATTACK - £170
PIRELLI DIABLO SPORT - £150
i'm a fair weather rider

that does a few hundred miles most weekends during the summer and i dont use motorways very often. I ride fairly quickly but am in no way a rossi on the twisties
Im looking for good grip obviously but balanced with a tyre that will last.
there seems such a massive choice and aint got a clue
FWR.co.uk appear to have a good variety for reasonable prices but again, too much choice too little knowledge
can a few members offer any advice as to what to choose? or suggest any alternatives for around the same price?
In the end, does it boil down to Alpha 10's or BT90's?

I think you can get pilot power 2ct's in 160 size. I use them on my 750 and the rear did 6k commuting and weekend scratching, the front is still going. More than sticky enough for me and great all round, i cant fault them but how they would work on a 400 i dont know, id like to try.

Short Answer yes, I really cant see a better 400 tyre on the road than a BT090 they warm up really fast have great feed back and are designed with 400's in mind what more could you want??
If you are friendly with your local tyre place or workshop ask if they have an account with Cambrian tyres they often offer 090's for a good discount this time of year. Even better on Dunlop Alphas as they are a main Dunlop distributor and always offer them at silly prices to trade customer, they may just pass the savings on to you if there your pals????

I ended up with a set of 090's fitted to loose wheels for £190, was well chuffed, seeing as most places wanted around £200 just for the tyres!

the only thing is wear, i have read that they tend to square off/wear quicker than some others.

I've had about 6k from mine and it's almost down to the wear bars

not too bad, probably get it changed at the end of the month after giving it a decent send off, after all, it's better to burn out than to fade away

Had a few NC30's, always gone for 090's. Great tyres, going to be my tyre of choice for a few track days too.

For people running the 17" rear the new Michelin pure look like they might be a winner on the 400's, they are said to be super light and come with the 2ct dual compound so you will get loads more mileage from the rear.
