I have stripped carbs again to find dirt in rear 2 carbs again!!!
I have now emptied all the fuel in the tanks(lots of dirt in there). I removed petrol tap and the filter is in there but not great condition, but no holes. I have stripped the carbs completely and gonna ultrasonically clean them. I intend to put a filter in the fuel line. Has any body any suggestion as to best filter to use ?

small cheap ones, as there just isnt the room to put a decent big one in
there are filters on the float valve bases, and on the tank its self so as a rule filters arent particually needed.

Hi, I know a lot of people on here will tell you not to use the cheap plastic see through type filters but I have one fitted to mine

, not only can you see if the fuel has stopped flowing due to vacuum problems

but it stops my fuel pipe from kinking when I secure the tank down

and you will see if there's shit coming through from your tank again.

Finally got to the bottom !!!! The dirt getting into carbs is comming from the tank. I took petrol tap off a rinsed the tank with petrol and bunged hole. When I emptied the petrol into a bowl lost of fine particles of rust. I did this about four times to clear tank, and have now also put filter in line. I hope this will be the end of all the hassle I have had !!!
Anybody who has this misfire on rear cylinders should do this before they put tank back on!!!
Many thanks to all that helped !!! and still have ultrasoic cleaner which done the trick too !!

Its one off ebay 300X100X100 with heating control split carbs onto 2 and they fit in.
Works a treat.
