Can someone explain how you remove the fork bottoms from the leg, after they've been stripped of course

the chrome part and the part where the caliper bolts to? As far as I'm aware they're screwed on, if not actually part of them :)

I'm not familiar with taking the bottoms off the NC35, but with GSXRs they're screwed and epoxied (or some other adhesive) on. So, I'd assume the NC35s are similar. Why do you wan to take them off?

YES! what colour are you thinking? i've actually pondered this too...i have settled on sand, primer, paint when i get around to doing the calipers...which will have to wait til i get new lines, discs and pads

just seems like it would be easier waiting to do it all in one go
red fork bottoms + gold calipers

Gold nitraid for the tubes and satin black for the fork bottoms, dunno about the calipers, i may try something other than gold for a change, maybe satin black again with polished nissin letters.

Yes I know how to remove them:
Make sure you have a vice with jaws for the correct diameter of the stanchions (chrome leg), then use soft metal (alu or copper sheet metal) to prevent the vice from destroying the surface. Clamp the leg tight, then use a heater gun to thoroughly heat the bottom part where it's screwed on. Make sure you've reached at least 120 degrees C, and then use the front axle7spindle from the bike to unscrew.
Reason for heating is the bottoms are Loctited in place, and will NOT come off cold. Do not try, or you will destroy the threads in the alu parts.
Good luck!

Cheers lasse, bang on the money there.
When you say correct jaws for the vice do you mean there are specific jaws available to suit different sized tubes?
