For those who have jacked up the rear, has anyone measured the front wheel trail? I'm interested to know how small you can safely go.

Re: Whats your favourite NC29 Rear Shock?
Is there anyway of replacing the link pipe between the shock & the reservoir (like on the CBR600 F4i etc) so that the reswervoir can be located where I want it? Have been looking to replace the standard shock on my 400 cos its condition is deteriating quickly and this seems to be a cheap replacement (upgrade? )
Also while on the subject - when it comes to changing the spring on the shock -how do I work out what weight spring I should be relacing it with- Have been looking at K-teck spings - they have six different options but the only obvious difference between them is the end two numbers of there product code e.g
HKZ31-380-5X-50
HKZ31-380-5X-52
ETC ETC ETC -54
ETC ETC ETC -56
ETC ETC ETC -57
ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC... YOU get the idea
Are the final two numbers a weight rating or dependant on how many pies you've eaten that morning... heres the http for you to have a look for yourself

Peneske Double Clicker made in the US. Long remote res that can be mounted anywhere and a snap to change springs with 36 clicks of adjustment.
PARUS------ How much to you weigh in lbs? I Think your spring is too light. I've went through an extensive set-up on mine.

Sorry, I don't remember the shock weight, but it was lighter little bit. As for the spring I have HyperPro 6x850 progressive. I'll try to find spring rate to compare with stock.PARUS------ How much to you weigh in lbs? I Think your spring is too light. I've went through an extensive set-up on mine.

PARUS---I misread your post. I thought you stated you have a 600lbs spring. But yeah a 850-900 would be about right guessing by your weight in the pics.

For those that have CBR600 shocks installed, where did you mount the reservoir?

Re: Whats your favourite NC29 Rear Shock?
People often mount it to the exhaust can hanger but I found this got in the way of my foot, so I attached mine to the subframe LHS under the seat.rickee wrote:For those that have CBR600 shocks installed, where did you mount the reservoir?

ah,, I've ended up with mine on the subframe RHS, tucked high up behind the pillion peg. You can see a loop of tube on that side of the bike but is not in the way.
