Hi all!
Just a quick one... was hoping you guys could help me out and tell me what these are for?

This is some kinda clip on the pillion seat strap... original purpose intended?

Under the pillion seat, i found this strange device... i am some how supposed to use it to lock my helmet to the bike??
Oh i also would really like to know if this is supposed to be like this...

This bit of black fairing is rather loose compared to the same bit on the opposite side. I was wondering if i was missing a fixing or is that normal for all NC30's?
Ok ok ok... 1 laaast thing....
Tonight i changed my tail/brake lights(lhs brake light not working) from the original jap spec 18/5W to UK spec 21/5W. Is this going to be a problem seeing as the bike is a Jap spec model?
Any help/advice is always appreciated!
Thanks everyone!

it isnt original as far as im aware ive never seen one before.

i believe originally it was attached to the rear seat so you could hang it whilst accessing the compartment

again not many VFR's have these as they break or get lost, i dont have any and it doesnt bother me tbh.

no it wont be a problem at all, the current difference as follows Quote Ohms law I=PV
(18W / 14V = 0.9A) (21 / 14V = 1.5A)
Any help/advice is always appreciated!
Thanks everyone!

Wow, cheers Rick for that super speedy reply :)
Good to know all that, thanks. I'll lose that clip coz it bugs me and takes some symetry out of the bike.
I'll try to use that seat hanging strap and see how it goes and try to hang onto the black bit of fairing coz it's original :D
As for the bulbs... yup, i figured it would only be about a 500mA difference... but i didn't know if that would be too much for the jap spec wiring to handle once everything else is on and running as well. Also i don't want to end up melting anything
Thanks again for the promp reply!
Cheers

its only the head lights that are affected and will need a relay installed to stop the front switch gear from screwing up.
i took the wire off my nc30 from under the seat, and yeah hang onto the infills.

The black bit of fairing, isn't he talking about the fairing infil panel ?
If so both sides have two fixings the right side has a fixing just under wires it's a small 10mm headed bolt. You need the fairing infil panels mate otherwise it looks crap!

Yes, I think it was intended that you undo the pillion seat, take out this loop and replace the pillion seat, then lock your helmet to the loop.

Very vague memories here... but it looks as though you're missing the 'v-piece' plastic that fits in front of the radiators. I don't have any, so only guessing.
If you want to verify, a parts manual can be found here:
