Ive been a reasonably loving owner of my NC24 for 5 untroubled years.

However, she wont start. Brand new battery R/R is fine i did the tests Neo suggested with a mulitimeter and was getting required voltages. As soon as i push the starter the stasrter soleniod just clicks out. Ive tried using a car to jump it just to be sure of the battery. Same deal click. Ive checked the ground it seems fine ive good continuity.

It seems like ive done something really stupid/obvious but i cant see the wood from the trees.

Can i bypass the solenoid just the once without doing any damage just to check.

Im a sparky by trade and its like its tripping out like an RCD would as soon as power is applied to it. Could the starter motor be gone. I have to say it did this a while ago but then righted its self carried on starting no trouble.

Kill Switch?

Oh yeah ive been there. But not this time. its not even turning over and i think with the kill switch it does turn over it just doesnt start

I noticed with mine, although not running yet, that when the cylinders flooded with fuel it wouldn't even turn over due to the pressure increase from attempts to start it. May be worth popping the plugs out for 24 hours in case this is the issue?

Starter Motor Jammed?

The Starter Motor is easy to remove.. it's a the front of the engine with two long bolts through it, remove it and earth it against the block and hit the starter switch and see if it spins.

If it does put the engine in a high gear and try pushing it along and seeing if it turns over.

Just need to do a little digging, The starter motor has a tiny gear on the end of it that drivers a larger gear that drives another gear :)

Just make sure everything is free to move, it might just need taking out and turning a bit to free it off.

What can i say. Took the fairing off low and behold the ground to the starter motor was loose. Not but much tho. I tightend it and started first time.

Just been up the road on it feels a bit lumpy. Its been sat so probably needs the carbs doing. I know that the nuts holding the carbs on are welded on any tips on getting them loose or off

The carbs are held to the engine with 4 jubilee clips on rubber.. if you look through the V you'll see them.

This will allow you to get the carbs off, invert them and clean out the jets / floats :)
