Rvf 400 throttle cables

Post by code2006 » Fri Aug 27, 2010 11:49 am

Ok I have changed my throttle cables but I can't remember which root the cables went.
I have fitted them the way I thought they went but when I pull the throttle back it does not got back fast it's very slow to go back to no throttle. Any ideas ?
Thanks Alex

try loosening the throttle housing bolts a smidge if your sure you have the right route. I do have some pics of the cable run but there on another laptop.

On my 35, i run round the front of the right fork leg, under the clock bracket, then over the top of the upper rad on the left hand side as you look down at it. then under the wiring bunch, and to the carbs. Bear in mind i have an ex race rad with the cut out for ram air, but i think that you should be able to fit through that route with standard rad. ;)
Also as DM said, try loosening the cable adjuster nuts, i have found that even half a turn in either direction can cause them to stick.

Sweet mate thanks
I want to get this small prob sorted as I got new fairings going on the bike :)
As for the adjuster nuts is that on the carbs or throttle body?
Throttle body they r lose as I just fitted new cables and i didn't tighten them up
Thanks Alex
